TOM SCHUSTER STUDIOS

ABOUT THOMAS ("TOM") SCHUSTER

Thomas Schuster gained his initial experience in visual arts on the streets of New York City. He explored Manhattan's East Village with his camera while studying film production and doing his Ph.D. work at Columbia University. Focusing his camera on the rapidly changing scene in the Lower East Side he documented a culture which since has been replaced by more advanced forms of conspicuous communication.

Shifting his attention from subculture to the commanding heights of the economy Thomas did a stint as a strategic management consultant with Roland Berger, a leading international management consulting company. He returned to deal with media issues as a feature writer and media commentator for Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and as an Associate Professor of Journalism at Leipzig University.

Upon leaving the academic world Thomas founded TOM SCHUSTER STUDIOS which specializes in photography, new media production, and digital post production. He has published five books, including one bestseller, and many articles on the media, politics, and economics. Thomas Schuster is listed in the 2009 edition of Who's Who in the World.
